Eco Tips
Eco-tips are the heart of our mission at GreenYankee.com. They provide good, old-fashioned advice on how to live more sustainably, on going green, and on living really well in our local communities. Our researchers comb the web (and yes, the library) for inspirational resources that offer practical, typically moneysaving advice. Best of all, we archive all of our articles for easy reference, so whatever the “eco-subject,” you’re likely to find it here. Whether you’re looking for a healthy new recipe, a cheap day trip, or how to repurpose a pile of egg cartons, we’ve got you covered. We admit it; we’re obsessed with research.

Our People, Places and Products columns introduce you to the crème de la crème of the eco-smart community. Think of our articles as tour guides or docents of the virtual, green world. We’ve discovered, or stumbled upon, so many fascinating folks and destinations. And we’ve vetted hundreds of eco-friendly products, tools, and solutions so that you have somewhere to start when you’re bargain hunting.
GreenYankee Household offers DIY advice for anyone with an interest in making, producing, crafting and creating your own stuff in lieu of buying the same overpriced product. You can also trade your stuff in our Barter section. Our Organic Gardening columns feature everything from improving your soil to the best gardening tools and heirloom seedsmen. The Gardening Guy offers weekly advice on traditional, organic methods of cultivation, planting, harvesting, and mostly, what a joy it is to play in the dirt. Our Seasonal Tips are easy, quick and usually cost-free. Fresh Cooking brings you old fashioned comfort food that’s healthy, easy to make, and cheaper than store-bought. We also recommend books, videos, sites, and chefs to improve your skills in the kitchen without getting on a plane to France; well, maybe a virtual trip. GreenYankee Travel recommends Eco-friendly Destinations, New England on-the-cheap, and very cool ideas for getting out and about and away without breaking the bank.
We’re very happy you’ve joined us and hope you’ll let us know (email at the bottom) what you’d like to see on GreenYankee.com. Thanks for visiting.
